The proceeds raised from the two-day event, on May 26 & 27, will be used to continue and expand the evidence-based prevention programs being implemented in West Virginia Schools through Help & Hope WV and the State’s outstanding prevention lead organizations.
In addition, through the partnership with The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, Game Changer will produce its Third Annual Opioid and Substance Misuse Prevention Summits in September with hopes of being live on location at arenas throughout the state. If COVID-19 prohibits live regional summits, virtual summits similar to last year will be held.
Proceeds will also be used to develop a comprehensive Game Changer Team in all of West Virginia’s 160 middle and 125 high schools beginning with informational videos for students and parents alike with 100 percent student participation being the ultimate goal by the end of 2022.
